Are you a metocean analyst looking to apply your knowledge and skills to offshore wind developments around the globe?

Marine consultancy and survey company, ABPmer, is looking for a metocean analyst who is self-motivated, organised and collaborative to join our team of oceanographers, metocean scientists and geomorphologists servicing our offshore client base.


This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to grow their knowledge and experience of meteorology and oceanography through working on a wide range of offshore projects in the UK and overseas.


About the role

You will be responsible for providing metocean data and analysis to support the design, installation and operation of offshore wind, subsea cable and other marine infrastructure developments. 


You will be providing input and support to our Weather Downtime Service as well as undertaking research and development as part of our ongoing development of metocean services in the UK and overseas.


In addition, you will be working on bids, as well as collaborating with colleagues across our consultancy business.


This role might be right for you if you have

  • A degree or higher in a relevant discipline (oceanography, marine geography, maths, civil engineering)

  • Three to seven year’s commercial/industry experience

  • Robust track record in collating and interpreting metocean data and information

  • Proven ability in technical analysis and presenting of data using GIS, MATLAB or other programming/scripting

  • Excellent report writing, presentation and communication skills

  • Experience in managing projects

  • Familiarity in wave and/or hydrodynamic numerical modelling (beneficial)

  • An appreciation of offshore and coastal engineering and maritime operations (beneficial)
