Associated British Ports (ABP) is both a major landlord and port operator with 21 port locations in the UK. Plymouth is a major ferry hub in the South West of the country with Brittany Ferries having been based at the port for over 40 years, and also handles industrial cargoes with an annual trade value of £470m. 

 

We’re currently looking to recruit a Maintenance Technician to join our engineering team in Plymouth to assist with general maintenance around the port. The role will work within a small team covering both our Plymouth and Teignmouth ports (occasional travel to Teignmouth paid as part of working day). You should have some experience of general maintenance ideally within an industrial focused environment but some of the works will include mechanical and electrical works, fixing doors, bathroom maintenance and painting.

 

You should have exposure to working within a permitted system and following Safe Systems Of Work with a high level of H&S awareness required. You will carry out inspection, fault diagnostic, maintenance and installation works on a wide range of assets across both ports. The role involves a mixture of planned and reactive maintenance in order to service our customers.

 

Experience & Skills

-    Experience of maintenance tasks in a similar industry
-    Excellent interpersonal and team working skills
