Our Wales & Short Sea Ports division is comprised of 16 specialist ports across East Anglia, the North West and Scotland and Wales and the South West. Through these ports we handle a huge range of products and customers including cruise & ferries, timber, dry bulks, building materials and metals. We're currently looking to recruit an experienced Senior Authorised Person, who can provide a high level of technical expertise across the region, you'll ideally be HV Authorised with knowledge of asset management, project design/delivery and coaching to raise the overall standard of Electrical knowledge. Based ideally in South Wales, but with scope to be based out of another of our major ports in either East Anglia or the North West, you'll provide technical advice and be comfortable with authorising HV works whilst acting as a Technical Specialist to the region. You'll hold accountability for the Asset Management of all electrical assets within the region including maintaining and developing the asset register. The role does involve a level of travel, which with the proper level of delegation to regional sites should be a couple of times a month.

Accountabilities Of The Role
- Accountable for ensuring all policies, legal requirements and best practices are developed (in a means that is both practical and deliverable at Port level) and fully implemented across W&SSP.
- Acting as the SAP for W&SSP and accountable for the safe application of the Electrical Safety Rules, appointment and ongoing audit of APs
- Mentor and develop members of the HV regional team
- Plan, Lead and manage the HV asset O&M programmes across all regional HV networks
- Accountable for ensuring all policies, legal requirements and best practice is understood and implemented by the Port management across W&SSP.
- Accountable for the production of TotEx (OpEx and CapEx) investment plans (5yr - 1yr), underpinned by robust asset criticality and condition knowledge.
- Accountable for the development and implementation of asset risk mitigation plans.
- Accountable for the creation of technical / performance engineering standards and liaison with procurement.
- Accountable to lead and champion initiatives and the consistent application across W&SSP
- Ensure alignment with the CofE and other senior management colleagues across ABP.
- Mentor and coach the W&SSP team(s) in Asset Management practices.
Skills & Experience
- Educated to graduate degree level with relevant professional qualifications/professional body membership.
- Certified to AP level as minimum with significant operational experience in a similar role
- Detailed and working knowledge of external legislation and internal policy requirements.
- Proven track record in strategic planning.
- Up to date in the latest technological developments.
