Position: Logistics Co-ordinator.
Contract: Fixed Term Contract until May 2025 – Potential to a Permanent role.
Location: Newport
Join our team as a Logistics Coordinator, where you'll play a key role in managing stock movements and customer interactions. You'll be trained on our stock management system to monitor daily stock activities and coordinate deliveries nationwide. This dynamic role includes arranging haulage, liaising with customers via phone, and working closely with the operations team to ensure seamless visibility and efficiency in all movements.
Accountabilities
- Assisting in the daily logistical and customer service by developing a full understanding of the computerised stock management package (coil warehouse).
- Taking bookings and answering enquiries from customers
- Liaising with operational supervisors to ensure correct utilisation of equipment and manpower to carry out daily operations.
- Liaising with administrative staff in ensuring all deliveries are carried out within the correct customer and legal guidelines, including ensuring haulier insurance certificates are compliant and up to date
- Update customers on the status of loads, in particular, loads that are urgent & loads that may not make the agreed time of arrival
- Outstanding call offs; telephone hauliers to sell loads if required
- Responding to requests/complaints from customers and hauliers promptly
- Assessing rates and trends of haulage, their impact on the overall business and ensuring the profitability of the department.
- Assisting with the stock administration department, when needed.
Skills, experiences, qualifications, and competencies

- Ability to perform under consistent pressure while maintaining accuracy.
- Highly detail-oriented and organized.
- Proficient IT skills with the ability to learn and use new systems effectively.
- Transport or logistics experience (preferred but not essential).
The role operates Monday to Friday during core hours, but flexibility is required within the broader timeframe of 06:00 to 18:00. Team members will work 8-hour shifts, which will be arranged collaboratively to meet seasonal demands. Typical shifts might include 06:00–14:00, 08:00–16:00, or 10:00–18:00. During winter or darker weather, shifts may occasionally end earlier for safety considerations. Flexibility and teamwork are key to ensuring smooth operations.
