We're the UK's largest port operator with 21 Ports around the country. We handle around a quarter of the UKs seaborne trade and over £157 Billion annually. Due to our expansion on the Humber region we're looking to recruit an experienced Project Delivery Manager to join our Major Projects team to lead the delivery of a £170m CAPEX project. You'll be initially building a new jetty to increase our cargo handling capabilities in Immingham, but over the longer term you'll assist with infrastructure projects across the group. 

 

You'll be responsible for leading the project delivery utilising regional and group experts. You should have demonstrable experience of proactively identifying and addressing risk & opportunities, driving the effective use of integrated project programmes and schedules and driving the cost-effective use of external consultants and contractors. 

 

Key Accountabilities:

-  Optimise value of the business case throughout project delivery – ensuring the right cross-functional trade-offs are made
-  Conduct proactive cross-functional stakeholder engagement and communication (including core team membership)
-  Define work package and tender strategy
-  Ensure an effective resource plan is established optimising utilising the existing regional organisation
-  Ensure project reporting and documentation management are functioning as per the needs of the project and in accordance with ABP procedures
-  Ensure costs are managed to provide optimal value for the company
-  Ensure changes to project scope are handled in a controlled and conscious manner. Maintain change control procedure

 

Required Skills & Experience: 
-  Strong track record of project delivery – motivated by delivering enhanced project value
-  Hands on approach with a key focus on critical deliverables
-  Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to understand all functional drivers
-  Ability to operate in a ‘lean’ client model understanding the practical way forward to reach results
-  Experience of CDM 2015 Regulations and an appreciation of environmental regulations
-  Experience with Capital Projects above GBP 50-100million
-  Preferably experience on both contractor and client side
-  Experience with projects in a port environment
-  Project management qualification
