At ABP our IT organisation is evolving to better meet the needs of the wider business, we are structuring ourselves to make it easier to work together and deliver value for our business. We have created the IT Project Delivery function as part of the Strategy and Project Delivery team and we're currently looking to recruit an experienced Project Delivery Lead to manage, evolve, coach and grow the team. You will be accountable for the delivery of a mixed portfolio of data, application and infrastructure projects. This role will deliver strong collaboration across the various IT functions and business stakeholders and is critical to ensure we adapt to the local context and leverage the resources and expertise already established.
You should be experienced in rolling out applications to both office based colleagues, and to front line staff - a number of our projects are focused on delivering everyday use applications to our engineering and operational teams, as such you'll a really high level of communication dealing with both frontline workers as well as board level stakeholders. Knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile project methodologies is essential using a combination of bought-in packages and in-house developed solutions, you will have demonstrable experience of developing and coaching teams.

Accountabilities
- Work with Business sponsors and stakeholders and the relevant IT teams to scope projects and to shape early delivery plans, relevant options, risks and opportunities
- Have a forward view of projects and plan project and programme management capacity up to 18 months out.
- Optimise value of the business case throughout project delivery – ensuring efficient use of resource and making value based decisions throughout the project lifecycle to maximise benefit
- Lead and manage project teams to deliver projects successfully.
- Optimise the returns on projects, i.e. faster delivery, lower capital spends and improved ability to react to commercial opportunities
- Proactively identify and address risk and opportunities
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and capability building within the team.Provide line management and support to team members, including performance reviews and professional development.
- Contribute to group best practices for project management and develop a community of delivery
Skills & Experience
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies and selecting the appropriate approach for each project.
- Ability to lead large-scale complex IT programs/projects in addressing overall business needs.
- Strong knowledge of program and project management processes and systems. Experience of Agile methodologies and practices is key.
