We are looking for an IT Portfolio Manager to lead and manage the Portfolio Management team that provides the integrated programme controls, services and assurance to all IT Projects and Programmes. This role will also provide the governance and resource management for planning and integration of the major programmes and projects across all teams in IT in order to achieve successful and efficient delivery to cost, time and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- The management of a portfolio of projects/programmes focussed on delivering business and technology change across the business.
- Leadership and performance management for the portfolio management team, whilst maintaining personal delivery focus through active engagement on one or more project or programme deliveries.
- Providing project & programme assurance to the Solution Delivery and Service Management teams for their portfolio of projects, including providing oversight and challenge, effective reporting and pro-active safeguarding of portfolio-critical items such as budget, client-expectations, dependencies, etc.
- Ensuring projects are delivered in line with the PMO Framework and appropriate best practices.
- Identifying, shaping and delivering synergistic opportunities arising from the management of projects and programmes within a portfolio.
- Creating and maintaining a long-range plan of client and account-driven change to enable the portfolio to be able to pro-actively be prepared to meet the future delivery challenge at the right time, in the right way.
- Delivering and reporting portfolio change across the spectrum; from small business-change (sub-project) through to large and complex programmes of change.
- Establishing and maintaining a suitable portfolio organisation and capability for the delivery of change to the required standards and within agreed measures.
- Delivering a complex series of related projects and programmes, effectively managing their interdependencies and allocating resources to support prioritised opportunities.
Essentials
- Demonstrable experience in a senior position in a related Service Delivery environment
- Proven Portfolio, Project and Programme management capabilities, with a strong background in portfolio-level assurance, governance and methodology.
- An excellent influencer and communicator and ability to establish and maintain stakeholder relationships.
- Not only able to lead a portfolio, but willing and able to 'roll up sleeves' and deliver change personally.
- Able to organise and lead a team to achieve portfolio, programme and project objectives and targets.
- Capable of meeting their Accountabilities within the constraints of a fast-paced and demanding delivery organisation.
- A proven influencer and communicator with stakeholders at all levels, being able to establish effective working relationships with all stakeholders and ensuring effective portfolio communications.
- An experienced P3M professional with a strong background in portfolio assurance, governance and methodology.
- Willingness to travel around the Group as required for specific projects and generally.
