Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team at one of the UK's busiest ports? ABP Immingham is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Port Operator - Industrial Cleaner to help maintain our high standards of cleanliness and safety.

 

Accountabilities

  • Ensuring that conveyor belts and related machinery are free from debris and contaminants to maintain smooth operation.
  • Keeping the entire site clean and orderly, which includes sweeping, mopping, and disposing of waste properly.
  • Conducting assessments to ensure compliance with relevant data regulations and legislation. This might involve checking records, ensuring data accuracy, and reporting any discrepancies.
  • Engaging in more intensive cleaning tasks that might involve heavy machinery, hazardous materials, or specialised cleaning agents.
  • Using personal protective equipment (PPE) that provides airflow, such as respirators to ensure safety and comfort while working in potentially confined or hazardous environments

 

Skills & Experience 

  • Experience in industrial or commercial cleaning is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with operating industrial cleaning equipment such as power washers, floor scrubbers, and vacuums
  • Experience in adhering to health and safety regulations, especially in an industrial setting.
  • Ability to perform thorough cleaning and maintenance tasks, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Capability to handle physically demanding tasks, including working at heights and in various weather conditions
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to report any deficiencies or needs for repairs

 

Shift Pattern

  • 2 days, 3 nights, then 4 off
  • 3 days, 2 nights, then 5 off
  • 2 days, 2 nights, then 5 off
