We are looking for a Port Operative to join our team at Immingham. This unique role combines hands-on operational duties with essential weighbridge administration support.
Accountabilities
- Participate in any training deemed necessary to improve individual skills and knowledge and efficiency of the company.
- Subject to suitable training operate Plant and Equipment (including Pre-Start checks), during vessel loading /discharging and cargo storage operations.
- To carry out the job role in accordance with Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work and to actively participate in Toolbox Talks.
- Where relevant, understand and ensure targets are met ensuring that targets and operations remain continuous around safe and timely handover of shifts.
- Cleaning of equipment and site as required and assisting in various other port duties (some of which may be of a physical nature and may include working at height).
- Responsible for booking all haulage in and out on site for daily collections.
- Responsible for booking all bulk haulage to correct Vessel collection contracts.
- Assist with vessel outturns and discrepancies.
- Operation of stock management systems to process collections & deliveries, generate reports and audit movements with high accuracy.
- Complete site walkarounds, update & maintain the stock locations for all products on terminal.
Skills, experiences, qualifications, and competencies
- Full UK driving (car) licence and must have own transport.
- Experience of working in a busy & fast paced environment with the ability to work towards set targets.
- Experience of operating plant & equipment preferably in a similar industrial environment (Cranedriving and Cargo Lashing would be particularly advantageous)
- Attention to detail
- Strong IT skills
- Weighbridge experience essential
- Stock management systems essential
