The Role: Management Accountant - Treasury
Purpose:
To provide a management accounting service for the Group Financing Companies and Treasury related activities, with indirect accountability towards ABP turnover of £542 million revenue and £291 million EBITDA.
Accountabilities:
• Liaise with Treasury Operations Manager to ensure the accurate and timely confirmation, documentation and accounting of all treasury transactions (investments, debt, swaps and FX).
• Review and post derivative valuations and SAP to treasury system reconciliations.
• Production of monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounting returns for the Financing Companies in line with agreed time frames
• Review of intercompany balances to ensure there are no imbalances. Calculation and posting of the fair value consolidation adjustments for PPE.
• Liaison with Taxation Manager to obtain and subsequent posting of monthly tax charges.
• Monthly production of the sections of the Board Report relating to Balance Sheet, Cashflow and Capital Expenditure in line with the agreed timetable.
• Calculation, review and posting of half-year and year-end intercompany eliminations at all consolidation levels.
• Preparation and posting of half-year and year-end tax journals.
• Prepare all half-year and year-end treasury disclosures for the statutory reporting processes and all year-end treasury matters with auditors.
About you:
A qualified accountant with a strong technical capability, you will be a real team player, someone who is keen to get stuck in to this exciting and fast-paced industry. By nature, you will be proactive, able to work independently and be focussed on performance, accuracy and ability to identify and operate in a continuous improvement environment.
Experience
• Results focussed attitude and the ability to manage their own time to ensure that deadlines are met while maintaining the necessary quality of output.
• Experience of the preparation of management reports to provide useful management information and commentary.
• Ability to solve problems with pragmatic solutions.
• An understanding of simple derivative financial instruments and accounting for them.
• Experience of the review and analysis of complex balance sheets and cash flow statements and an understanding of the drivers of the variances.
• An understanding of capital expenditure reporting and the key drivers of the variances
• An understanding of consolidation adjustments, how they arise and what their impact is.
• Project management skills and the ability to deliver on time and to budget
Ideal
• SAP experience
• Able to demonstrate a detailed understanding of how to value financial instruments and derivatives and the balance sheet impact and accounting
• Experience of using a treasury management system
