The Role:  IT Project Manager (initially 6 month FTC)

 

To drive forward the delivery of projects to achieve an effective business outcome. Ensuring successful delivery within the agreed time, cost and quality constraints..

 

 

Accountabilities:

 

  • Defines plans for large projects, communicating complex schedules clearly & concisely to project team & stakeholders.
  • Defines financial schedules for large projects, identifying & mitigating potential risks & issues regarding the business case with support from peers.
  • Communicates project cost-benefit analyses to senior client stakeholders in an engaging format to achieve their buy-in
  • Builds business cases for significant expenditures or headcount requisitions.
  • Builds quality assurance plans for complex projects to ensure consistent quality of deliverables throughout a project
  • Adheres to organisational operating framework processes and practices.
  • Identifies potential project risks before they arise throughout large projects and updates project issue log & risk register, identifying feasible mitigation suggestions for each risk.
  • Confidently addresses large audiences, relaying information clearly and leaving a sense of excitement and anticipation around the project.
  • Actively manages resourcing issues, developing, and implementing appropriate mitigating measures to maintain resource use alignment to forecasts.
  • Leads communication with suppliers, competently managing multiple vendors at each stage of the project lifecycle and assertively manages supplier performance, defining KPIs and measuring success against them.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

 

Essential

  • Broad project management experience and a deep understanding and ability to apply available project management standards, tools and techniques in order to achieve this.
  • Track record of delivering complex technology projects to scope, time and budget.
  • Experience in team leadership, including motivation and direction of project team members
  • Foster a culture of collaborative working and transparency both within the team and with external stakeholders, especially the customer
  • Track record of the production of accurate and concise project deliverables, structured in an appropriate business format. 
  • Track record of use and promotion of formal methodology and tools within project teams
  • Ability to manage remote teams and 3rd party delivery
  • Supplier management skills with a strong commercial acumen
  • Willingness to travel around the Group as required for specific projects and generally

 

Desirable

  • Experience working in any one of the functional areas used within ABP
  • Possess a degree in an IT-related subject relevant to this post
  • Project Management qualifications e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, PRINCE2Agile, AgilePM
  • Managing projects in an SAP landscape.
