Following the recently announced continuous improvements in the Humber, we’ve added new roles to facilitate the organisation changes to the E&AM function. These are necessary in order to support the businesses growth plans and our missions of Keeping Britain Trading and Enabling the Energy Transition. These changes will position the E&AM function to provide an optimum service to our internal and external customers and will ensure we manage the businesses interests in both the short and long terms. We're looking to recruit an Engineering Asset Manager (Civil) to ensure the Humber Region is compliant with both external and internal policies. You'll develop Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP) and Individual Asset management Plans (IAMP’s), as well as overseeing TotEx investment planning for the Humber Region, underpinned by a robust understanding of asset criticality, condition and customer service requirement.
Accountabilities
• Enhance the performance, efficiency, and effectiveness of assets to meet organisational strategy, in multiple asset types.
• Define clear lifecycle asset ownership from procurement to disposal including any refurbishment requirements.
• Monitor asset performance through internal audits and management reviews to obtain data, to gain increased asset availability, reliability and utilisation.
• Identify, assess, and manage risks associated with assets to ensure business continuity and reduce potential losses.
• Accountable for the development and implementation of asset risk mitigation plans, such as life cycle plans.
• Responsible for Management of Change from medium to long term maintenance plans within the Humber region.
• Ownership of the Critical Condition Assessment (CCA) document for the Humber region, ensuring 100% review completion each year and audit of findings presented to senior engineering management team (SMT).
• Achieving cost savings through informed asset management decisions, thereby improving the cost-effectiveness of asset ownership.
• Accountable to produce TotEx (OpEx and CapEx) investment plans (5yr - 1yr), underpinned by robust asset criticality and condition knowledge.
• Sustainable Development: Supporting sustainable development by managing assets in a way that considers environmental impact and social responsibility within the region.
• Work with Group Technical Authority to develop and embed a Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP)
• Develop Individual Asset Management Plans (IAMP’s) for assets deemed business critical
• Fostering a culture of continual improvement in asset management practices through regular review and adaptation of the ABP computerised asset management system.
• Accountable to lead and champion initiatives and new technology, consistently applied across the Humber.
Skills & Experience
Essential
• At least 10 years' experience in an asset intensive industry with a functional discipline of civil engineering
• Educated to degree level within an associated engineering discipline.
• Chartered Engineer or working towards
• Detailed and working knowledge of external legislation and internal policy requirements.
• Proven record of accomplishment in strategic planning in this area of expertise.
• Up to date in the latest technological developments.
• As this is a functional leadership position the job holder is expected to be a role model living ABP Values everyday
• Knowledge and experience of ISO 55000 (2024) (Ideally)
• Excellent leadership and strong team management skills.
• Great communications skills and teamworking ability
