Marine Information Officer – Join Our Dynamic Humber Team!


Location: Grimsby, Humber

Contract: Fixed-term maternity cover
Shift Pattern: 24/7 (Full driving licence required)

 

Are you ready to play a vital role at the heart of Humber’s marine operations? We’re seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Marine Information Officer to join our team in Grimsby. What You’ll Do:
•    Keep the Humber moving: Accurately input vessel data into our Port and Vessel Information System (PAVIS) and ensure pilots are allocated to vessels efficiently.

•    Be the communication hub: Liaise with agents, vessel masters, pilots, and Vessel Traffic Services to keep everyone informed and operations running smoothly.
•    Master logistics: Organise pilot transportation, supervise vehicle maintenance, and support the Marine Ops team.
•    Share vital information: Collate and disseminate reports, statistics, and updates to river users, dock masters, shipping agents, and more.
•    Support in emergencies: Be ready to assist the VTS team and Marine Management during incidents and emergencies.

 

What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
•    Excellent IT skills (Windows, Microsoft Excel)
•    Strong communication and teamwork abilities
•    Calm under pressure and adaptable to changing priorities
•    Willingness to work a 24/7 shift pattern
•    Full driving licence
Desirable:
•    Marine background or knowledge of the Humber, Trent, and Ouse rivers
