We're currently looking to recruit an Engineering Planning Supervisor to support our Engineering teams in the South Wales and South West region. Based from our Newport site you'll oversee a team of two in ensuring that all maintenance works are effectively planned and communicated across the team.

 

We use Mainsaver as our CMMS and you should have experience of using a similar package, and ideally will have a grounding in engineering within a heavy industrial environment. Working closely with the supervisors on site, as well as our asset maniagers you'll have demonstrable experience of improving planning strategy and be comfortable managing a team. Knowledge of PowerBI is a strong benefit to the succesful candiate in terms of generating reports and sharing data with the wider engineering team.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all work is completed to appropriate standard in a timely manner.
  • Co-operate closely with other departments and contractors, liaising with operations and marine to maximise cross departmental efficiency with best-in-class planning.
  • To work in a safe and methodical manner to ABP’s Safe Systems of Work and take an active part in risk assessments.
  • Understand and work to ABP’s Permit to Work system.
  • Be the responsible person within the Divisional team for the management of CMMS system (mainsaver) and ensure the system is up to date and functioning correctly for the team.
  • Assist with the creation of Engineering metrics and KPI’s.
  • Take ownership of generating Engineering reports via power BI
  • Overall ownership of statutory inspection process and procedure, linking the region with ABP group policy
  • Line management responsibility for Engineering planner and Stores person
  • To work with the engineering resources manager and supervisors to optimise and refine maintenance routines
  • To ensure that all planned work has been risk assessed by the appropriate individual(s) as part of ‘up front’ maintenance planning and creating a job pack for the Engineering team to deliver.
  • Assist stores person to maximise our stock inventory and create a centralised stores that delivers to the region.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Experience of engineering preventative maintenance practices in heavy industry, ideally previously in a planning or scheduling capacity
  • Competent in IT systems and productivity software
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as a team.
  • Have a flexible approach to service delivery.
  • A desire to help develop the role to best meet the requirements of ABP and customers.
  • Full UK driving License.
  • Knowledge of PowerBI and a CMMS would be highly beneficial, Mainsaver would be desirable.
