Trainee Marine Pilot, Humber

Full time, Permanent (6 months training prior to authorisation as Class 3 Pilot Humber)

Location – Humber


ABP are inviting applications from experienced mariners looking for a career in pilotage! 


Successful applicants will complete up to 6 months of training, prior to authorisation as a Class 3 Humber pilot.


To be considered for a trainee pilot position, you'll need to hold a valid STCW Certificate of Competency, or Royal Navy equivalent.  You will also have an enthusiastic, proactive and motivated approach and be willing to undertake your training in a large and complex district.  In return we o­ffer a diverse, challenging and incredibly rewarding career with a comprehensive training programme and structured career progression.

Providing a great work-life balance, our Humber pilots are rostered on duty for 11 days, followed by 7 days off­ duty, completing, on average, 1 act of pilotage per day.  In addition, pilots have 25 consecutive days o­ff duty every 198 days.
